James V. Burgess Methods Article-of-the-Year Award

In honor of the legacy of Professor James V. Burgess, a Senior Associate Editor of HSR who was poised to become a Co-Editor-in-Chief just prior to his untimely death, the James V. Burgess Methods Article-of-the-Year Award designates the best research methods article published in the journal. This award considers research methods articles published in the past year that demonstrate new methods, innovative or novel applications of older methods, or compare or evaluate alternative methods. James Burgess was himself a highly regarded investigator who made significant contributions to health services research methods. Awards are selected by the Co-Editors-in-Chief, the Senior Associate Editors, and the publisher.
