The Division of Health Services Research (DHSR) in the Department of Foundations of Medicine of the NYU Long Island School of Medicine (NYULISOM) invites applications for Faculty positions in health services research. NYULISOM is the newest school of medicine in the NYU Langone Health System and offers an innovative and tuition-free three-year curriculum with a particular focus on population health and health system science. Investigators in the Division conduct clinical and translational research in various areas, including obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, kidney disease, COVID-19 and long COVID, and immunological disorders.
DHSR is committed to developing expertise in population health, health services research, and implementation science to complement existing areas of strength and help reach the Institutional goal of advancing the health of populations as leaders in the discovery and translation of new knowledge into policy and clinical practice. DHSR is amid a wide-scale expansion and is looking for candidates involved in innovative research with strong collaborative skills in an interdisciplinary environment to help grow the Division. Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
- PhD or DrPH in health services research, health policy and evaluation, health economics, health delivery science, clinical decision science, epidemiology, biostatistics, pragmatic research, patient-centered research and evaluation, social determinants of health, or related fields; or an MD degree with advanced training and documented expertise in these areas
- Experience collaborating with medical and public health professionals in a multidisciplinary setting
- Mid-career investigator with demonstrated scholarship through teaching, publications, and extramurally-funded research
- Strong mentoring skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- For MD candidates, board certification or eligibility and NY State licensure or eligibility are required for physician investigator candidates.

Duties and responsibilities: The postdoctoral candidate will collaborate with Drs. Jasmin Divers and Donglan Zhang on using electronic health record data for disease surveillance, health, access to care, and disease outcome disparities. Topics will be motivated by relevant design and analysis issues encountered in practice.
Position Qualifications: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Health Services Research, Health Economics, Operations Research, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Decision Science, and related disciplines. Strong statistical knowledge in causal inference, simulation, effectiveness research, implementation science, and computational and programming skills. Successful candidates will have strong communication skills (written and oral) and organizational skills. Self-motivated and collaborative individuals are encouraged to apply.

The University of Vermont (UVM) seeks a highly accomplished tenure-pathway health services researcher to serve as Director of its Health Services Research Center in the Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine (LCOM). The Director will join the College at an exciting time, as Vermont has implemented a statewide all-payer accountable care organization model, leading to remarkable opportunities for evaluation and further innovative health services research.
Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Research, the next Director will harness the strengths of LCOM and the unique opportunity to test highly innovative models of healthcare delivery in rural settings across Vermont and northern New England. UVM health services researchers collaborate across multiple colleges and departments at LCOM and the university. The Director will lead and grow UVM Health Services Research, promoting a collaborative interdisciplinary program focused on evaluating the impact of innovative healthcare delivery models, chronic disease prevention and management, organization and financing of health care, integrated health information systems, and health policy or other health service domains. Candidates may have health services research interests that lie in implementation and dissemination science, comparative effectiveness research, health economics, policy analysis, and community-focused interventions to address health disparities and health equity. Integral to the role will be engagement, education, and mentoring of faculty and graduate and post-graduate trainees in health services research, and providing access to design, data management, and analytic consultation resources for collaborating investigators and trainees.
The successful candidate will bring evidence of success leading, coordinating, and facilitating interdisciplinary research teams, hold a doctoral degree (MD, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) and strong experience in health services research, and will be granted a faculty appointment in a department appropriate to expertise and interests. Demonstrated expertise in nationally and internationally recognized health services research is desired, along with a strong record of scholarly, peer-reviewed publications and extramural research funding consistent with appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level. Candidates with a research focus on cancer care delivery, cancer policy and cancer health equity, will have the opportunity to partner with, and assume a leadership role, in the University of Vermont Cancer Center.
